VIP at B+K
How are alternative plastics made of replenishable raw materials to be evaluated? Where can recycled materials be used? What answers does Bischof + Klein have to the demand for increased packaging recyclability? Lots of such questions were posed by visitors to packaging and film specialist B+K's team at the FachPack packaging fair in Nuremberg. "We were optimally prepared for it", reported Andreas Stöber, head of sales for consumer packaging for hygiene products.
Right from the start, there were a high number of visitors at the trade fair stand. Besides many familiar faces and new prospective customers, a visit was also paid by a VIP in the form of Bavarian State Minister of Economic Affairs Franz Josef Pschierer. He met up with CEO Dr. Tobias Lührig and Konzell plant manager Armin Kienberger for a brief meeting.
The main topics of the discussion included digitisation, e-commerce, packaging design and, above all, sustainability. "We were constantly able to make it clear that there is no 'ideal solution' to sustainable packaging", explained Heinrich Wennigmann, key account manager for consumer packaging for foodstuffs. Instead, it is necessary to offer customer-specific solutions which give consideration to the requirements of the respective products.
Packaging solutions in great demand in the consumer sector included stand up pouches in all variations as well as SepaFlex® brand two-ply packaging for industrial goods. "That is particularly interesting for sensitive applications for foodstuffs", stated André Altevogt, head of sales for industrial packaging in the food sector. The increasing importance of hygiene for packaging was revealed here once again.
