Bischof + Klein has successfully undergone the sixth major audit of its environmental and safety management system without complaints.

"We barely had anything to complain about!", joked KPMG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft AG's environmental experts, Dr. Jörg Schnittger and Dr. Ulrich Wilcke, at the concluding EMAS audit meeting in Lengerich.

The auditors ascertained that the management system is consistently updated. They offered a few suggestions on improving environmental protection and finally placed their signatures beneath the new environmental statement's declaration of validity. For the first time, this will not be published individually but as part of a sustainability report in September of this year.

Over a period of two days, the auditors scrutinised every aspect of the environmental and safety management system at the company's Lengerich headquarters and at B+K Konzell in the Bavarian Forest. Accompanied by waste, water and immission protection officer Melanie Büschking and group leader Angelika Lütke Lengerich, the auditors visited both sites. Their conclusion: operations are running smoothly and according to schedule. The objectives of the environmental and safety management system are comprehensible and the data are coherent.

Interviews with the management plus the purchasing, personnel management, idea management and operating technology departments rounded off the positive impression. It is quite apparent that the concept of environmental protection is anchored in people's minds, stated the auditors.
