At its German plants in Lengerich/Westphalia and Konzell/Bavaria, Bischof + Klein employs around 1,900 staff.
Presenter of the award and jury member Dr. Achim Dercks of the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry: "Bischof + Klein has been establishing itself as a whole in the CSR sector for a number of years and reveals a high level of innovativeness. The application of stringent environmental standards and the integration of environmental aspects into all areas of the company deserve particular emphasis."
With the CSR prize, the German Federal Government pays honour to companies which act in a particularly economically, ecologically and socially responsible manner. Bischof + Klein had outlined its long-term strategies and specific activities in the fields of corporate management, products and supply chain plus workplace, environment and community. Assessments by employees, business partners, representatives of the communities in which B+K is located and further stakeholders rounded off the impression that the expert jury obtained of the company. The award ceremony took place in Berlin in the presence of Andrea Nahles, Federal Minister for Labour and Social Affairs and patron of the German Federal Government's CSR prize, at the close of a conference with around 250 guests. Prize-winners in other categories include the Otto Group, Lebensbaum, Speick Naturkosmetik and Micas AG.
Managing director Horst Sundermann accepted the award together with employee and shareholder family representatives: "The CSR prize fills us with pride. This is an additional boost for all employees who bring the concept of sustainability to life at Bischof + Klein. There is still a great deal to be done. We will continue!"
