In the past, Diego Bochicchio, B+K's CleanFlex® sales manager in Italy, took part in the events as a member of the AFI group. This time, and with its own exhibition stand, the Lengerich-based film and packaging specialist was an important point of contact for all matters surrounding the topic of clean room packaging. Three B+K employees were on hand to answer prospective customers' questions and ensured that the familiarity of the CleanFlex® products was given a boost within the Italian pharmaceuticals industry.
Italy is one of the largest manufacturers of pharmaceuticals in the EU. More than 100 companies manufacture pharmaceutical active substances in mass production, referred to as API bulk production. Around the same number of companies are involved in the production of finished drugs. Biotechnology is also extensively represented, both in small start-up companies and in the world's largest pharmaceuticals groups, with independent divisions in certain cases.
The Italian national association of the pharmaceuticals industry organises the AFI symposium, which has taken place annually in Rimini for the past 53 years, within this exciting environment. The programme encompasses numerous workshops on technical innovations, discussions concerning current topics and presentations by pharmaceutical experts as part of a congress. B+K will keep an eye on the AFI symposium and continue to present itself as a preferred partner to the pharmaceuticals industry in Italy in the future.
