Award for top corporate performance

15. July 2016

Bischof + Klein has been nominated for the "Großer Preis des Mittelstandes" (Grand Prix for Medium-sized German Companies) 2016. During "Winners' Night", Bischof + Klein was one of a total of 58 qualified companies to be honoured.

From a total of around 1000 companies in the north-western region, they had all made it through to the final round of Germany's biggest and oldest commercial prize. Organiser Dirk Oliver Haller, management board member of DFT Deutsche Finetrading AG and head of the Oskar Patzelt Foundation service centre hosting the event for the northwest, was most satisfied: "We have some great companies here in the region, and we are delighted to honour them for what they have achieved."

The breadth of the industries and task areas in which the award-winning companies operate was interesting. The spectrum extended from manufacturers of animal feed supplements to flexible packaging and technical films, up to and including a VIP security service. The prize-winners amongst the nominated companies will be announced in September 2016. In their evaluation, the jury members used five criteria for orientation: overall growth of the company, job and trainee position creation/security, modernisation and innovation, commitment in the region, service and customer proximity.

Dr Volker Pfennig of Bischof + Klein's management board accepted the award on behalf of the Lengerich-based, family-owned company. "Our employees can be justifiably proud of B+K. Thanks to our extensive know-how and modern technology, we are the market leaders and our customers' preferred partner in a number of sectors. This is also expressed in our nomination for this prestigious prize."
