Bischof + Klein in the finale

11. June 2014

Bischof + Klein has been nominated for the German Federal Government's CSR prize (Corporate Social Responsibility) 2014.

This prize is awarded by the Federal Government to companies that are managed in an economically, ecologically and socially responsible manner. The expert jury has now pre-selected a total of 21 companies which have outlined their long-term strategies and specific activities in the areas of corporate management, products and supply chain as well as workplace, environment and community in a management survey.

Family-owned company Bischof + Klein will be joined in the final by four other companies in the category "Companies with 500 – 4,999 employees" - Alnatura Produktions- und Handels GmbH, FRoSTA AG, Johnson Controls Power Solutions EMEA and Sto AG.

The nominated companies will now undergo a "stakeholder survey". To this end, interviews will be conducted with representatives of various groups such as e.g. employees, customers and business partners or also representatives of environmental groups or the local community. Their point of view will supplement the companies' self-assessment, which is expressed in the application for the CSR prize. The jury will decide on the prize-winners on the basis of this information. The award ceremony will take place on September 17th 2014 in Berlin in the presence of Andrea Nahles, Federal Minister for Labour and Social Affairs and patron of the German Federal Government's CSR prize.

"Naturally, we hope we will win the award", says B+K managing director Dr. Volker Pfennig. "But even being nominated has delighted us. We regard it as confirmation that Bischof + Klein is actually living out sustainability. Our focus in the future will remain on economically, ecologically and socially responsible management."
