A regional jury will decide on the finalists of this competition, in which 4,923 companies from throughout Germany have taken part. 839 of these applications were selected for the next jury round.
No other commercial competition in Germany achieves such a resounding response as the "medium-sized company grand prix" organised by the Leipzig-based Oskar Patzelt Foundation since 1994. Only companies that are proposed can actually take part. In Bischof + Klein's case, the proposal was submitted by a company based in Münster. On reaching the jury round, Dirk Weddehage of "Executives online" presented executive board member Dr. Volker Pfennig with a certificate. Over the coming weeks, the jurors will assess the extensive application documents to select the finalists and prize-winners.
At 125 years, the Lengerich-based, family-owned company is one of the applicants with the longest histories – the oldest are 150 years old. However, newcomers that have only been founded in the past five years are also taking part. Based on an exhaustive questionnaire, the applicants have to document the company's overall development and explain their activities in essential areas of the company. Important aspects in this regard include job and trainee position creation and security, modernisation of production, the development of innovative products, social commitment in the region as well as service and customer proximity.
"Bischof + Klein is in an outstanding position in every regard", states executive board member Dr. Volker Pfennig. He is therefore looking forward with excitement to the jury decision, which will be published shortly after the festivities to celebrate Bischof + Klein's 125th anniversary in September.
